Operation Sindoor: India's Precision Strike Against Terrorism

In the early hours of May 6–7, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, a strategic, precise, and dignified military response to Pakistan’s continued patronage of terrorism. This was not an impulsive act. It was not political theater. It was a calibrated, disciplined message delivered after years of restraint.

For decades, India has been the target of proxy warfare. From 26/11 to Pathankot, Pahalgam, and Pulwama, the trail of blood has consistently led back to the same organizations: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and their handlers, trained, funded, and shielded across the border, often in plain sight.

India has always known the locations of these camps. It had the intelligence. And yet, time and again, it chose diplomacy over retaliation. It chose peace.

One of the recent attacks in Pahalgam was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF),a rebranded proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Far from being a fringe element, TRF was even indirectly referenced by a Pakistani minister at the United Nations, cloaked in the misleading language of "freedom struggle." That wasn’t a slip. It was a signal. A global stage was used to legitimize a terror outfit.

But peace cannot be one-sided. When silence is weaponized, and olive branches are used as shields for those who aim to kill, action becomes the only answer.

What Did Operation Sindoor Target?

The strikes were conducted on specific terror training facilities operated by LeT and JeM, some deep within Pakistani territory and others in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK). These were not random skirmishes. These were precision strikes on infrastructures that have produced:

Ajmal Kasab (26/11 Mumbai attacks)

David Headley (who conducted reconnaissance for the same)

Pathankot attackers

Militants responsible for the Pahalgam attack and many more.

What Makes These Strikes Different?

India took extra care to avoid civilian infrastructure. No Pakistani military bases were touched. There was no intent to escalate or provoke. This was not an act of war, it was an act of justice, sovereignty, and strategic clarity.

Unlike those who plant bombs in markets and kill unarmed tourists in front of their families, India responded with restraint, precision, and intent.

Unsurprisingly, misinformation and distortion have already begun. Some will cry “aggression.” Others will suggest “restraint.” And many will push the tired narrative that “both sides must de-escalate.”

False Narratives You’ll Hear, and The Facts:

1. “India is escalating between two nuclear nations.”

→ False. India struck terror camps, not civilians or military installations. This was counter-terrorism, not provocation.

2. “This is all about elections.”

→ Terror doesn’t follow election cycles. Neither does the Indian Army.

3. “Both sides must show restraint.”

→ False equivalence. One side funds terror. The other protects its people.

4. “Where’s the proof?”

→ Operations are based on verified intelligence, not performative disclosures. Silence does not imply absence of evidence.

5. “Pakistan is the victim now.”

→ No. The real victims are the families who lost loved ones to terror bred and trained in Pakistan.

6. “This will radicalize Kashmir further.”

→ Radicalization did not start with Sindoor. It started with terror camps and propaganda, often across the border. There is a well documented history of Hindu genocide since Millenia.

7. “India is targeting Muslims.”

→ Lie. These were strikes on terrorists, not religion. India has always made that distinction, unlike those who weaponize it for narrative warfare.

As an international lawyer, I’ve learned that silence in the face of terrorism only empowers it.

This isn’t just India’s story, it’s a reminder for the world: when a nation defends itself lawfully, strategically, and without targeting civilians, it must not be vilified, it must be heard.
